GAMSTOP and Mad Casino — the honest answer
GAMSTOP is the UK's national online self-exclusion scheme. It does not reach Mad Casino. If that is a relief rather than a fact, this page is for you.
What GAMSTOP covers
GAMSTOP lets anyone in the UK exclude themselves from every Gambling Commission-licensed online casino and bookmaker for six months, one year or five years, in one registration. Taking part is a licence condition for those operators.
Why the gap exists
Mad Casino is licensed in Curaçao. GAMSTOP has no contract with it and no power over it, and Mad Casino's own terms state that GAMSTOP enrolment does not apply. The operator's bonus terms do say accounts on GAMSTOP are not eligible for the welcome stack — a policy statement, not a block.
Sites advertising themselves as "not on GAMSTOP" exist because of this gap. We will not dress that up as a feature.
Tools that do work offshore
- Blocking software such as Gamban or BetBlocker blocks thousands of gambling sites on your devices, including offshore ones. BetBlocker is free.
- Your bank's gambling block stops card payments to gambling merchants and is one of the most effective barriers available.
- Self-exclusion with the operator — ask support to close the account for a set period. It covers that site only.
- Giving someone you trust oversight of your finances for a while.

The National Gambling Helpline, run by GamCare, is free and open around the clock on 0808 8020 133. BeGambleAware.org lists local treatment, and the NHS runs specialist gambling clinics you can refer yourself to. Our responsible gambling page has the full list.

Questions from UK players
I am on GAMSTOP. Can Mad Casino let me in?
Technically yes, because GAMSTOP does not cover offshore operators. That is precisely why we do not recommend it. If you chose to self-exclude, the reasons have not gone away.
Does Mad Casino offer its own self-exclusion?
Offshore operators usually offer account-level limits, cool-off periods and self-exclusion on request. These apply only to that one site.
