Fact-checking policy

Figures on this site are checked before publication and again whenever an offer changes.

What gets checked

• Offer figures — percentages, caps, wagering multiples, stake limits and expiry dates, against the operator's current bonus terms.
• Regulatory statements — UK rules on stake limits, credit cards, GAMSTOP and VIP schemes, against Gambling Commission publications.
• Arithmetic — every worked example is recalculated by a second person before publication.
• Conversions — sterling figures are checked against the stated exchange rate.

Labelling uncertainty

Where a fact rests only on the operator's own statement — for example a two-hour withdrawal time — we mark it "as advertised" or "the operator states". Where we cannot confirm a detail at all, we leave it out rather than guess.

Sources we treat as primary

The operator's published terms; the Gambling Commission; GAMSTOP; HM Revenue & Customs on the tax position of winnings; the Advertising Standards Authority on marketing rules; and the published guidance of charities such as GamCare and BeGambleAware.

When we get it wrong

If a reader points out an error, we check it within two working days. Confirmed errors are corrected and, where the meaning changes, noted on the page with the date. We do not quietly rewrite conclusions.

Dates

Every guide shows the date of its last substantive update. A page showing an old date has not been checked since; treat its figures with extra care and confirm them on the operator's site.

An example of a check

The bonus table shows that maxing all five tiers takes about €5,816 in deposits. Before publication that figure was rebuilt from each tier's match percentage and cap, converted at £0.85 to the euro, and compared with the operator's own tier table. The wagering totals were checked the same way: thirty times each tier's maximum bonus, then added up. Where our arithmetic and the operator's figures disagree, we publish neither until we know why.
